North Miami Beach: MAKE-A-WISH CARNIVAL GOING ON RIGHT NOW!

Make-A-Wish CarnivalDROP EVERYTHING and head on over to Northeast 181st Street and 19th Avenue to see the most amazing event that no one knows is even going on!  This is Nicholas:

NicholasI just had the pleasure of interviewing this incredible young man who put together a block long carnival for the benefit of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  In addition to this wonderful Christmas house that I visited last year (and took this picture), which is lit up and decorated like a mini enchanted forest, replete with piped in Christmas music…

Christmas house

…there are also carnival games, rides and food.  Nicholas told me that “tickets are a dollar, each ride is a dollar, wristbands are fourteen and you can ride as many times as you like.”

Nicholas told me he spent his own money to set up the carnival, which he is giving as a donation, and he will also match any money made tonight, and all will get donated to Make-A-Wish.  He also managed to get Macy’s to partner with him because his mom is an executive with the company.  How enterprising!

Nicholas started this has his own idea, which turned into a school project, and he’s hoping to get a Silver Knight award for his efforts.  He certainly deserves one!

Unfortunately, for some reason the City has not promoted this event, but it’s possible that Nicholas didn’t think of asking.  (He did get a permit, though, and hired two off-duty North Miami Beach police officers to ensure everyone’s safety!)

Therefore, consider this his Official Promotion in the hopes that everyone in North Miami Beach will come on out and support Nicholas tonight.  It’s for a great cause!

  1. Congratulations Nicholas!!! You are a great example of an INCREDIBLE thing that can be done with some creativity, initiative, and doubtless hard work. Thank you for setting a great example and for doing it here in NMB. I hope that your Make-A-Wish event gets the broad publicity that it deserves.
