Frantzie Watch: Kubuki Theater comes to NMB

kabuki danceTuesday night’s North Miami Beach council meeting should have been a dignified affair.  Residents were understandably upset at the recent news that the Police Department’s sniper team were using mugshots for training.  They wanted to address their representatives to express their reaction and look for answers.

If residents were hoping for some understanding from their elected officials, friends and neighbors, the childish disruption by a handful of discordant agitators didn’t do them any favors.

The real shame is that the actual residents of North Miami Beach, many of whom had something relevant to say at public comment, were upstaged by the group of visiting performers who know nothing about the community for which they pretended to speak.  Real voices of real people were drowned out by the cacophony of the histrionic, and quite silly, performances of The #BlackLivesPlayers.  If the trouble makers expected anyone to take them seriously, they were sadly mistaken.

The group’s behavior only served to elicit smirks, giggles and eye rolls instead of empathy.

As impossible as this is to believe, the behavior of the incendiary crowd was so beyond the pale, that everyone in the room – even police officers – literally breathed an audible sigh of relief when North Miami Beach resident Mubarak Kazan walked up to speak at public comment.

By that time, Kazan’s was the only voice of sanity at the podium.

I am NOT kidding!

Yeah, it was that  bad.

The perfect storm of manufactured “racism,” cop hatred and staged outrage came together Tuesday night at the North Miami Beach Theater of the Performing Arts City Council Chambers.

Astro-turfed camera ready Street Rappers, Coffee House Poetry Readers, Token White People, Perpetual Victims, Professional Wailers, and a Resurrected Jesus hit the floorboards in a pre-rehearsed performance, conveniently timed to headline the eleven o’clock news.

Actually, Jesus wasn’t on the Playbill.  He just happened to be in the neighborhood.

In Act I, Scene 2, four of the Kubuki players stated for the record that they lived at 3300 NW 27 Avenue, Miami, Florida.

Miami Dade Juvenile Detention CenterI wonder if the Warden noticed they were missing.

This special performance was brought to you by the community organizers of Power U, led by one Denise Perry, who tried to hijack the meeting even before it was called to order.

I cracked up when she attempted to open the meeting and ask her peeps to come up to the podium.

The Mayor, of course, had to remind her who was in charge.  (Hint: It wasn’t you, Denise.)

The Power U cast members’ intention is to wreak havoc wherever they go in the name of “social justice.”  This group was invited to the council meeting by NMB resident Darryl “Tree” Thompson at Councilman Frantz Pierre’s request.  (More on why in a bit.)

I really had a chuckle when their “leader” read the group’s ridiculous ransom note list of demands, which sounded just like the ones being circulated by New York anti-police “protesters.”  As reported by Before It’s News:

One such demand is essentially an end to access to the court system for police officers charged with a crime:

We demand a total independent investigative body that has full and total investigative powers, and unhindered access to any scene and full access to all evidence,” they write. “This investigative body will have full prosecuting power, and the authority to mete out punishment. This agency will have the power to immediately sequester any and all officers that are involved and/or on the scene.

These clueless morons want to create an “independent investigative body” which has the power to be Judge, Jury AND Executioner.

But only when it comes to police officers.

Gee, that’s fair, huh?

And that’s not even the most absurd “demand.”  It gets even crazier.

Number 4 reads:

We the people demand that any and every officer accused of misconduct, abuse of authority, or the use of excess force be suspended immediately without pay, pending the outcome of the independent investigation.

Forget evidence or due process!  These malcontents want the right to ACCUSE an officer of wrongdoing, for any REAL OR IMAGINED  offense, and IMMEDIATELY call for that officer’s suspension without pay.

Just because they DEMAND  it.

Hellooooo!  I’m pretty sure this is still America – NOT NAZI GERMANY!

Who could possibly take any of that anarchistic nonsense seriously and keep a straight face?

(Pssst!  Hey, kids.  There’s this thing called the United States Constitution … oh, never mind.)

Following Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, these community organizers created a crisis and then pounced on it for media attention in order to extend their fifteen minutes of infamy.

Unfortunately, it worked.  The media ate it up.

Even so, there is plenty of blame to go around.

Unfortunately, the city itself inadvertently aided and abetted a media frenzy created – and perpetuated – by a self-serving media.  Nothing sells better than an exclusive “scandal,” even a trumped up one that should have been at most a one- or two-day story.

Yes, using old mug shots for sniper training is in poor taste and apparently offensive to many people.  But instead of simply recognizing that there was a problem which needed to be addressed, the initial response by the city was so pathetic, it only furthered the “racism” narrative that made this story so explosive.

Most of the aggravation could have been avoided if the City of North Miami Beach and/or its Police Department had a professional Public Information Officer available who would have immediately cooperated with Willard Shepard’s investigation and disseminated accurate information as it became available.

This is not the first time I’ve pointed out that NMB is in desperate need of PIO.  Because no one at City Hall has a clue how to work with the media, someone at the top made the decision to churn out one ridiculous press release after another in an amateur knee-jerk reaction to a story that quickly spun out of control.

This course of action was obviously an epic fail.  Seriously!  Whoever is responsible for this media disaster should be promptly fired.

In any event, the North Miami Beach Mayor and Council finally had no choice but to step in and try to repair the damage.

On Monday, the Mayor issued a statement, pronouncing that he finds it “offensive and unacceptable” for the sniper team to be using mugshots for target training.  He stated:

“North Miami Beach is better than this. We are a richly diverse city, a fact our residents are very proud of, and as Mayor I will not allow anything to disrupt the harmony and goodwill that exists in our community.”

He is absolutely right.  I lived in North Miami Beach for twenty five years, a city that is approximately 50% black, 30% Hispanic and 20% non-Hispanic white.  I can honestly tell you that I never encountered any racial tension whatsoever.  I truly hope that this incident doesn’t ruin everything for NMB.

At the meeting, which you can now view online, the Mayor advanced a Resolution to permanently halt the use of mugshots for sniper training.  When he asked for comments from his colleagues, as if on cue, at hour 29:21, Frantz Pierre began his grandstanding.

Believing he could seize upon a rare opportunity (if only in his mind) to have a Relevant Moment, L’il Frantzie P, who has never been the “victim” of racism in his entire pathetic life, tried to steal the show by outdoing his own ass clown self.

The P Man put on his smug, self-righteous Angry Face, demanding changes to the proposed Resolution, and playing not only to his fellow performers in the audience, but to the news cameras as well.

His buffoonery was in full bloom!

Frantzie also proved how clueless he is about the North Miami Beach City Charter when he stupidly called for the Police Chief’s resignation.  Regardless of whether Chief Scott Dennis is ultimately asked to resign or not, it is NOT an elected official’s job to call for an employee’s head.  The P Man is obviously unclear on the whole “Council-Manager form of government” thing.

Ever the opportunist, L’il Frantzie P couldn’t help himself.  This latest “racial” controversy was ripe for the picking due to the fact that The P Man just happens to be black (even though his skin color is the only thing he has in common with American-born blacks).  Over the years, Frantzie has barely been able to hide his contempt for anything non-Haitian, including North Miami Beach’s non-Haitian black community, and especially its growing Hispanic population.

Even the vast majority of the Haitian community thinks he’s a joke.

But with an election a scant five months away, Pierre would have you believe that he is the “Great Black Hope” of NMB.

He continues to be a legend in his own mind.

If his grandstanding weren’t hilarious enough, the word on the street is that Frantzie intends to vacate his council seat run for Mayor in May.  His Myron-like rehearsed performance of faux outrage Tuesday night only confirmed that suspicion.

Are you done laughing yet?

Personally, I hope he’s stupid enough to do just that because when he loses, he’ll finally be gone from the council altogether.

But, we’ll have plenty of time to destroy what little credibility he has left in North Miami Beach before campaign season starts.

In any event, despite the Resolution passed by the North Miami Beach Mayor and Council at Tuesday night’s meeting, and despite the fact that Eric Holder’s Department of Justice lawyers recommended just yesterday that no civil rights charges will be filed against Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, the community organizers are probably gearing up for the next disruption.

Whether it be performing a “die-in” or “choke-in“, lawlessly driving ATVs on the streets of Miami to disrupt traffic, staging another idiotic Black Brunch Protest (#HandsUpDontEat), or chaining themselves to 1200 pound cement-filled barrels spread across a major expressway, you an count on even more Kabuki Theater from these card carrying members of the Participation Trophy Generation for your entertainment pleasure.

  1. How many “diverse” groups does Pierre direct city monies to? Is he diverse in his choices of distribution or are his choices more selective? Curious to know

    1. Oh, so diverse! He directs city money to non-profits run by both Haitian men and Haitian women. At least no one can accuse him of sexism. 🙂

On a serious note, though. He’s the only one who voted against the Resolution to stop the practice of mugshot targets. He also sat up there and implied that NMB cops are racists. Oh, I hope they are watching his every move and are ready to ticket him if he drives even one mile over the speed limit.

Is there such a violation as DWS? (Driving While Stupid)
