Faithful North Miami Police Department watchers have always known it was bound to happen. The former NMPD Bad Boy, Peter Cruz, just landed himself in a whole heap of trouble.
After leaving North Miami for the greener pastures of Opa-locka, Peter Cruz was at first considered for the position of deputy Chief by another NMPD reject alumnus, Chief of Police Jeff Key, who then thought better of it considering Cruz’s history of getting in trouble.
Apparently, Peter’s stretch of good behavior – and his luck – has run finally out.
Channel 10 just reported that Cruz was recently arrested in Aventura on a “charge of driving under the influence.”
Sources told me Cruz was driving his Opa-locka police cruiser, lost it on a turn, crashed on the golf course, was busted by the Aventura Chief of Police, refused to take a breathalyzer test and was promptly arrested.
Well done, Peter. Well done!

We were lucky to get him out of North Miami. Those of us who’ve been around some years remember the long history of Peter Cruz. His name has been thrown around for being in the mix of a lot of things here. Anyone remember when Chief Kenny Each’s house was shot up? Some mysterious person(s) drove by his home on Emerald Drive and pumped a bunch of rounds through the Chiefs bedroom window. Who’s name was kicked around as a possible suspect? You guessed it. Peter Cruz.

So glad I was not on the “trail” when he lost control! What nerve to drive in city property and yes, they were stupid for hiring him in the first place!
I dated Peter Cruz,when I met him he told me his wife had died 6 months earlier.I became suspicious of his story,so I googled her name she had died about 1 month before I met him.He was very proud of and made it a point to show me pictures of the crime scene investigation of when he had shot a black ma,he crippled the man and ended in jail,but told me 1 less Ni–ER to worry about.He also had collected 1 million dollars from Aventura Hospital,he made claims about his whife death blaming the hospital .When she took I’ll he dropped her off and when he returned later that day she had been pronounced dead.I don’t believe for one moment that the hospital was at falt,he showed me the empty bottle she drank of I believe tequila ,and kept it.I went to see one night a concert the Gypsy Kings on South Beach,he had told me he had to work,he just happen to show up with another woman,I had known threw mutual friends,so I ended dancing with her,I pulled her to the side and asked her,how do you know Peter,she said he is my boyfriend ,so I responded to her by saying that’s funny,he is my boyfriend to,and that Tommy Bahamma shirt he is wearing,I bought it for him,last night.I had to go to the bathroom he came into the ladies room,grabbed me by the throat,pinned me up against the wall and threatend my life.Jeff Keys,another creep,his best friend has a child that is disabled,his wife cares for the child while he works and has a girlfriend as well.Peter Cruz had also been in trouble,with a Saudi family,that are my clients.He thinks he is above the law,and is a Ass kisser.The girl he showed up with that night,he lives with for several years now at her home,I wonder if he kept his house in North Miami Homested Exempt.I currently and for the past,almost 4 years,I’m engaged to Rodney Ballentine the Retired Chief of Opa-Locka Police Department .I believe in Karma.I was to afraid to file a report against him for chocking me,I sometimes wonder if he treated his wife the same.
You’re not alone. When Dianne Cruz died there were plenty of people who thought it was suspicious and there was plenty of speculation about the circumstances. If someone told me that he plied her pills while she was drinking I wouldn’t even blink.
His current girlfriend Mariaeugenia Munoz has no idea who she’s in bed with. Literally and figuratively. If she knew 1% of what others know about Peter Cruz she would run for the hills. She should have put some of time and money into doing a good background check on him. It’s not too late Margene!
I’m sorry to say,but what I was told by mutual friends,his girlfriend was always in abusive relationships.She was in the bathroom when he came in and pinned me up against the wall and chocked,threatened me with another friend of hers,and that should have been a sign,some women don’t get it.I was never treated like that by a man,but then again Peter is not a man he is a Coward.His girlfriend was in LA when this happened.He not only stripped down naked in his cell,he also pissed all over it,sounds like him.I never was so afraid to report sombody for chocking me,but then again,I never was in a physically abusive relationship .Peter after moving in with his girlfriend called me drunk several times,I don’t think anyone can make that creep happy,I feel sorry for his girlfriend ,she is in the circle of friends,and just has bad luck with men.She happens to be a very nice person,regardless of what happaned.
Cruz is a BULLY. that’s his personality. He was like that at work and he tried to push people around. His obnoxious loud mouth could be heard all over the station.
Cruz was famous for his juvenile, devious, back-stabbing ways. This guy would cut out pictures of supervisors faces then superimpose them on pictures from gay men’s magazines, photocopy them, and place them in employee mailboxes and all over the station.
He would prank call employees in the middle of the night from his friends fax machine phone. You’d always know when Cruz was out drinking because people would get these calls at 3am. Another Pete Cruz drinking game was to hit the emergency button on the police radio in cars at the station parking lot. He would activate the distress call in the car causing the dispatchers to call you at home in the middle of the night to check on your status. This is an adult man mind you. A man who tries to pass himself off as a “leader” and was looking to be promoted to assistant chief.
I know of at least one occasion where he was seen stealing money from a home. He was on an alarm call in either Keystone or San Souci. Our K-9 officer came in to search and saw Peter take money off a dresser and put it in his pocket. The K-9 officer said he didn’t report it because it would be his word against Cruz. He also said that Cruz was so volatile that he wouldn’t risk getting into a criminal accusation against him because he ( the K-9 officer) had a wife and and two small little girls at home and he “wouldn’t want Cruz to do a drive by shooting through his front windows like he did at Chief Each’s house.”
Cruz isn’t fit to wear that uniform. He’s nothing more than a low class, trashy, hoodlum who hit the lottery when he got hired. If it weren’t for this job he would be just another scumbag, thief, sitting on a stoop in the New York Puerto Rican slum where he’s from.

About a month ago, however, an anonymous letter was sent to the city, alleging that Cruz was engaged in inappropriate relations with a fellow female officer, and that other female officers were preparing to file complaints of sexual harassment against him and other officers on the force. “He knows he can do whatever he wants,’’ the letter said. It’s not clear whether the city was investigating the allegations.

peter cruz your not a man your a woman, he called me a nigger several times and had a picture of a black man hanging from a tree at the opa locka police station, were a black corporal was sitting who was the person hanging from the tree. cruz need to become a prisoner so they can take his man hood, O i forgot he is a woman and may like it. this is no disrespect to woman just to cruz.
