The Ridore Family Business: “Teaching” for Dollars

Fresh HellMonday’s arrest of North Miami Senior High School’s Adult Education Center principal Jean Coty Ridore for grand theft, unlawful compensation and official misconduct may have been an isolated incident.

Or, it may have been just the tip of the iceberg.

A Beenverified.com search of Jean Coty Ridore turned out to be quite revealing.

Among the list of Ridore’s possible relatives are the following individuals:

  • Amanda Ridore
  • Ashley Ridore
  • Beneus Ridore
  • Billy Ridore
  • Kenya Ridore
  • Paulette Ridore
  • Abigaelle Gedeon

A directory search at the Miami-Dade County Public Schools website revealed that all of these individuals are employed by the school system.

Directory SearchIsn’t that curious?

Three of the Ridore Clan work at Adult Education Centers.  The rest are employed by several schools around the county.

Jean Coty Ridore’s brothers, Beneus and Billy, both work at North Miami Beach Senior High School.  Billy is the assistant principal at that school, but he also works at the Miami Beach Senior High Adult Education Center.

Huh?

In addition to working the school system, enterprising brothers Beneus, Billy and Jean were also principles of two now defunct North Miami businesses:  Ridore Enterprise Income Taxes & Security Patrol Services, Inc. and Ridore Enterprise & Consultant Services, Inc., both of which were administratively dissolved in 2009.

In 2012, Billy and Jean joined forces to form the now defunct Haitian Educators Soccer Club, Inc., which was dissolved the same year.

But, brother Jean Coty Ridore may be the most enterprising of all the Ridore Clan.

He formed a host of also now defunct Florida companies, including:

After all the failed “for-profit” businesses and questionable “non-profit” organizations the Ridore family has engaged in over the years, it seems they finally found their niche in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools system.

At least one of the clan members, Jean Coty Ridore, discovered what he believed was an ingenious way to turn a public service job into a profitable venture.  Unfortunately for him, that didn’t work out so well.

But, as a good friend of mine always says, “If you turn over enough rocks, something is bound to slither out from one of them.”

Just saying.

  1. Something is real “fishy” about this group! In the past, M-DCPS would have employees disclose all relatives, their locations and in what capacity that are employed with M-DCPS to ensure there was no “hanky-panky” going on. KR office is probably checking all family members as we watch…

    1. I certainly hope so! It’s bad enough that our local governments constantly misappropriate tax dollars (i.e., throwing dollars at “non-profits” without verifying their agendas), but when public officials steal money from the children of Miami-Dade County, it’s an abomination! The district needs every dollar it gets, and anyone who has any control over spending must be held accountable. If a principal is stealing school funds, who can be trusted?

    2. Thats just the tip of the Iceberg of his illegal practices. Glad to see they finally caught up with him.

They need to dig a little deeper into his other endeavors at the school… such as being paid, but rarely ever present at the site and hiring countless friends into positions where they didn’t have to do anything but collect a check.

    1. So many people starving for job everyday they refuse to help them, they think the schools system belong to them. The way treat the lower pay employees just like trash they need to investigate all of them. Because they’re not trustee to the schools system, and they think
The schools system belong to them.

  2. Billy Ridore is a stand-up guy. I worked with him for over 10 years and find it difficult to believe that he would knowingly be involved in a shady business that cheats students. Mr Billy Ridore cares about the kids and goes out of his way for each and every one of them. The fact that many of his family members are educators is not surprising to me. It is not uncommon for people to follow their family members into the same trade. I’m sure you find the same phenomenon in the real estate, entertainment, and fashion industries, just to name a few. As far as having crooks and liars in the family, who doesn’t? Sadly, we don’t get to pick our family.

  3. I totally agree with Mrs. Miller. We do not pick our families. And Billy and Ben are great guys who care about kids. The person who wrote this article need to get a life and stop pointing fingers. I am sure the person who wrote this have a few dead beats in their family. We should not celebrate in people’s misfortune. But pray for them to find their way.

    1. If you actually read my blog, you’d know I didn’t accuse either of them of any wrongdoing. I merely posted verifiable facts and let the readers come to their own conclusions.

I do not “celebrate in people’s misfortune,” but I do make it my business to uncover fraud and corruption in government. If public employees or government officials are found guilty of breaking the law or violating a code of ethics, it’s not my job to “pray for them to find their way.” It is my mission to make sure they get what they deserve. Hopefully, prison.

      1. That sad, that my own brother who I constantly ask for work would NEVER give me a job,in a way I’m glad to be the outcast of the family! But I pray for him even though through the years I was the one who would not be nothing in life…. I am glad I never gave up and you gave me motivation to keep it up…. I will be praying for you guys…
