I ❤ Hate Mail!

Hate MailLocal small business owner and 2016 Darwin Award contender Marc Jonathan Cooper is an internet troll.

In addition to my blog, I have a Facebook page, on which my posts are public to anyone.  Unfortunately, Marc Cooper started Facebook stalking me and writing nasty comments on my posts.  I eventually had no choice but to block him from being able to view my Facebook page or make further comments.  Marc is one of about five people I’ve ever blocked since I joined Facebook about ten years ago.

Mr. Cooper is also most definitely not a fan of the blog.

That fact, however, has not stopped him from reading my posts and commenting on them every chance he gets.  Almost all of his comments are negative, regardless of the topic.  Even though I rarely censor comments, some of his were so obnoxiously rude, I chose to not to post them.

After I posted my blog this morning about Circuit Court Judge Jason Bloch, Marc Cooper went into a rage and posted an extremely profane comment.  Once I noticed it, I immediately [redacted] it.

Fortunately, though, screen shots are forever!

Here is the original comment, which I have also redacted so as not to offend the delicate sensibilities of my readers:

Marc Cooper RantIsn’t that special?

Since I often respond to my readers’ comments, I thought I’d take the opportunity to do so here.

Dear Marc,

Thank you for reading my blog.

Your personal opinion if me is none of my business, but thank you for sharing.

Posting bail may be a constitutional right, but so is the right to critique a judge, or any public official, for any reason whatsoever.  Period.

Your aversion to the justice system, as well as your defense of the attempted murderer of a police officer, is most likely a result of your own brushes with the law.  Your long rap sheet for assorted third degree felonies includes criminal traffic offenses, driving with a revoked license, providing false information in application for bail, forgery, obstruction of justice, and others, most of which you were adjudicated guilty.

Your mother must be so proud!

Again, thank you for reading my blog.

Sincerely,

Stephanie

As I mentioned above, Marc Jonathan Cooper is a small business owner.  His company is MC Waste Services, Inc., which he advertises as the Most Efficient Waste Management Service in South Florida.

MC WASTEI’m sure the executives over at Waste Management and Waste-Pro are shaking in their boots as we speak.

But here’s the thing.

While Marc Cooper advertises his business as “MC Waste Services, Inc.,” there is no corporation by that name registered in the State of Florida.  Feel free to search for yourself:  Sunbiz.org

There is, however, a Florida corporation by the name of CMC Waste Services, Inc., of which Marc Cooper of 6801 SW 75 Terrace, Miami, Florida 33143, is the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Registered Agent.

The problem is that neither Marc Cooper nor CMC Waste Services, Inc. have ever filed a fictitious name application with the Secretary of State to do business as “MC Waste Services, Inc.”

This is a problem.

One which the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Waste Management, might be interested in investigating.

Just saying.

In any event, Marc Jonathan Cooper is entitled under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution to express his opinion, no matter how vile.

By the same token, I have the same right under that same First Amendment to express mine.

I also have the good fortune, and the wherewithal, of being afforded the opportunity to access public records on which to base my opinions.

And like screen shots, public records are forever!

But, I certainly wish Mr. Cooper all the best with his bright future in the waste management business.

Stephanie

  1. Wow!! I sm extremely impressed by your courage and fortitude, not to mention fearlessness in writing this piece. Well done!

    1. It takes no courage to access public records and form an opinion.

It also took no courage for Marc Cooper to crudely attack me for having an opinion.

      So that’s that.

  2. Stephanie, you need to improve the quality of your enemies.

The problem with most hate mail, besides it being, all hateful, is that is so tedious and dull like this one is.

I treasure the original and well executed insult and your correspondent couldn’t even rise to offensive. It’s just words that his mother told him not to say strung together.

    1. I didn’t even bother critiquing his grammar or lack of punctuation. That would have been pointless. I did find it curious that he went on such a vicious attack on me for attacking a criminal who tried to murder a police officer. As it turns out, you can see why. In any event, the one thing that comes to mind is “garbage in, garbage out.” If any municipalities wish to contract with his company for waste services in the future, at least they know what they’re dealing with. Caveat emptor.
