Start popping the corn! Agriculture Commissioner candidate Naomi Blemur’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week.

A word to the wise:  If you want to run for public office, your private life becomes a public record.  If you don’t want the skeletons hiding in your closet to see the light of day, it’s best to stay out of the public arena.

That being said, there are wannabe politicians who believe they are above scrutiny until they learn the hard way when their dirty laundry is aired out on the six o’clock news.

We’ve seen many politicians go down in flames due to their own arrogance, and by all accounts, Naomi Blemur is about to be one of them.

For the past year, the word on the street in North Miami was that Naomi Blemur was planning on running for Mayor.  She happens to be close personal friends with the scam artists of North Miami, Mayor Philippe Bien-Aime and Council Mary Estimé-Irvin.  And as we all know, water seeks its own level.

While her mayoral plans never materialized, on May 30, 2022 she submitted a Statement of Candidate to the Florida Division of Elections to run for Commissioner of Agriculture & Consumer Services, a position she’s even less qualified for than one on the North Miami City Council.

And, while VotersOpinion is a strictly non-partisan website — we expose corruption regardless of your political party — it seems that Naomi Blemur has stirred up quite the firestorm in the Democratic Party.

The controversy started last Tuesday when a West Orlando News article, Potential Problems for Democratic Party as Concerns Raised in Agriculture Commissioner Race, hit the internet newsstands, and then all hell broke loose.

The article exposed the financial and legal woes of Naomi and her convicted felon husband, Anis Blemur, who in 2019 was convicted and sentenced to seven years in federal prison for defrauding investors out of $1.6 million.

After his conviction, The Real Deal reported:

“From 2013 to 2018, Blemur solicited money from investors for real estate properties in South Florida and told investors that he would keep their money safe in an escrow account.

“In one instance, Blemur told a retired medical doctor and Haitian diplomat that he could purchase a property priced at $180,000. But when the diplomat sent over $70,000 to buy the property, Blemur never put the money in an escrow account. The money instead went to his personal checking accounts and the property never closed, according to court documents.

“An investigation by the FBI and the Office of Financial Regulation found an additional scam, where Blemur used victims’ personal identifying information to apply for 26 credit cards. Blemur said he only needed to use their credit cards temporarily and would pay any charges that he made on the credit cards, according to court documents.”

While Naomi was never arrested or charged with her husband’s crimes, his Florida corporations, SUPERTREE REAL ESTATE & INVESTMENT SERVICES, INC. and AB CONSULTING & ACCOUNTING SERVICES, INC. both “operated the investment scheme from 2013 to 2018,” as reported by the South Florida Business Journal, from the same address listed on all of Naomi and her husband’s individual and jointly owned companies.

Since the $1.6 million that Anis Blemur stole from investors has never been recovered, the question of whether or not Naomi was in on the scheme still hangs in the air.

The proverbial jury is still out on that, but frankly, we find it hard to believe she knew absolutely nothing about the sudden windfall of cash that enhanced her high-maintenance lifestyle.

Both of their names are still listed on at least one active Florida “non-profit” corporation, ABI-ANIS BLEMUR INSTITUTE, INC.  This company was formed in 2006, and was reinstated three times between 2017 and 2021 for non-filing of its Annual Report.  The corporation received 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, which was revoked on May 15, 2010, reinstated on December 22, 2011, and revoked again on May 15, 2020 “for not filing a Form 990-series return or notice for three consecutive years.”  It currently does not have a valid 501(c)(3) status, so donations made to this company will not be tax deductible.  Although, this alleged “non-profit” has not filed a tax return since 2016, its Annual Reports have continuously been filed with the Florida Division of Corporations in order to remain an active Florida corporation.

The West Orlando News article also revealed that “Naomi” Blemur may not be her real name.  According to the article:

“Prior to registering as a Democrat in Florida, Blemur belonged to the Democratic Party of New York under the name “Naromie Leriche.”  Under this name, Blemur founded the non-profit Esther’s House of Hope, Inc. in 2008 at a Cambria Heights property, which she purchased in 2006 for $300,000.  This purchase was not reported on her campaign filings despite it qualifying as a personal asset that must be disclosed under Florida election laws.

“Blemur’s name changes have now become so convoluted that even close friends don’t know what to call Blemur. Her former classmate attempted to endorse her as “Naromie,” and she has several legal documents and publications under the same name that have been linked to the purchase of the unreported asset, Esther’s House of Hope, Inc.

“Esther’s House of Hope and Blemur’s ties to the non-profit have also raised concerns by members of Florida’s Haitian community, citing a pattern of illicit and fraudulent actions perpetrated by her husband, Anis Blemur. According to reports, he preyed on members of his own community in real-estate and credit card scams, wire fraud, as well as embezzling funds from the political campaign of former Miami mayor Smith Joseph. Anis was sentenced to seven years in federal prison, and as the Miami New Times reported, ‘Investigators say he stole more than $1.6 million from victims in the Haitian community…'”

The Florida “non-profit” corporation formed in 2017, Esther’s House, Inc., is not listed in the IRS database as a tax-exempt organization, so it’s anybody’s guess what its real purpose is other than possibly lining Naomi’s pockets.

In response to this sudden notoriety, Naomi issued a lengthy statement on Facebook to dispute the allegations against her.

In order to “prove” that she sold the New York property that she didn’t report as a personal asset, Naomi also attached what appears to be a warranty deed transferring the property.  This document is heavily redacted to hide not only her address, but the alleged buyer’s name and address, as well as the complete legal description, even though this information would be public knowledge on a recorded real estate instrument.  We do know that the alleged buyer is a limited liability company because she did not redact the “LLC” from the alleged buyer’s name.

Furthermore, the alleged deed does not appear to be recorded, even though the recording of a deed is not required in the State of New York.  That being said, however, the redacted deed Naomi provided is not evidence that she sold the property, and even if she did, there is no evidence that she didn’t sell it to an LLC that she herself owns.

In any event, this alleged deed does not prove in any way that Naomi has divested herself of this property, and the burden of proof is on her.  Without that proof, the allegation that she didn’t report this property as an asset on her campaign qualifying documents is a valid charge.

Also in response to the West Orlando News article, Naomi’s two Democratic opponents, Ryan Morales and JR Gaillot, issued a Joint Press Release condemning “multiple incidents of supporter intimidation and defamation by Naomi Blemur and her supporters. Staffers and Supporters for the Morales and Gaillot campaigns have received threatening calls as well as various other forms of intimidation in support of Blemur. These incidents have been coupled with the candidate herself attempting to lie to the public about her own qualifications. Blemur has repeatedly referred to herself as “Dr. Naomi Blemur” despite not holding a doctorate or medical degree.”

They also stated that “Naomi Blemur did not meet the minimum requirements to run for statewide office in the state of Florida. Blemur also appears to have intentionally falsified her financial disclosure documents when qualifying.”

Morales and Gaillot closed by asking Naomi Blemur to withdraw from the race or “they will be forced to file suit to uphold state law for candidates running for statewide office in Florida.”

Like her jailed husband, Blemur also claims to be an “accountant,” or “tax advisor,” or something.  She owns the “for profit” Florida corporation, Leriche & Associates, Inc., doing business under the fictitious name of BL Consulting, which claims on its website to be “Handling finances for Miami residents and businesses with unprecedented customer service.”

All of Naomi Blemur’s companies, as well as her campaign documents, list a physical address of 685 NE 126 Street, North Miami, Florida 33161.

On June 1, 2022, her Landlord, Marie Florence Beaubien-Cordon, filed a Complaint for Removal of Non-Residential Tenant against “Leriche & Associates, LLC and all others in possession,” for non-payment of rent.  That case is still open and active.

This comes as no surprise considering that her BFF and fellow grifter, North Miami Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin is also in the process of getting evicted, and “great” minds think alike.  Maybe they can be roomies.

Another of Naomi’s “non-profit” corporations is Balancing Life, Inc., which received 501(c)(3) status on May 7, 2019, but has yet to file a Form 990-series return since that date.  Since it’s been three years, its status will be revoked by the IRS this year if she fails to file again.

Naomi then created a Facebook page called “Pearls of Wisdom Global Women’s Network” allegedly as part of her Balancing Life corporation, but which is not a legitimate entity filed with the State of Florida, and appears to only exist in her imagination.

That fact didn’t stop her from scamming $1,000 in “donations” from the City of North Miami via her bestie, Mary Estimé-Irvin, and $300 from the City of North Miami Beach via Commissioner Michael Joseph, another “Democrat” who scored an endorsement of the Jewish Leadership Coalition, a staunch pro-school choice organization, by agreeing to vote for school choice when ran for a seat in the Florida House in 2014.

Even though Michael Joseph has proposed “progressive” legislation during his tenure on the City Commission, he still maintains the Jewish Leadership Coalition’s support by promising them he’ll vote for school choice if he ever gets to Tallahassee.  It’s anyone’s guess who the real Michael Joseph is, but he’s runs in the same circles as Naomi Blemur, and he’s just as much a fraud as she is.

But, we digress.

When Naomi was vetted by the Miami-Dade Democratic Party‘s Executive Committee, she advised them that Ricardo Dormevil and Markenson Jeanty were part of her management team.  Keep in mind that both of these individuals were involved in a massive election fraud scheme that helped North Miami Mayor Philippe Bien-Aime and Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin get “re-elected” in the North Miami municipal election held in May of 2021.

Both Dormevil, Jeanty, nine City of North Miami employees, and several other campaign operatives, were responsible for taking dozens of voters each into the voting booth under the guise of claiming a “disability” by filling out an ADA Declaration to Provide Assistance form to make sure they “voted correctly.”  This matter is currently under an active investigation by the Miami State Attorney’s Office.

In the meantime, however, Naomi’s opponents should send extra campaign staff to the North Miami Public Library during early voting to watch the precinct like a hawk to prevent this bold-faced fraud from happening again.

Just saying.

All of which brings us to the main event as to why the Florida Democrats are calling for Naomi/Naromie Lariche/Blemur to drop out of the race for Agriculture Commissioner.

Time to pop some more corn.

This story was picked up by the national website, Daily Kos, which is described as “a group blog and internet forum focused on the U.S. Democratic Party and liberal American politics.”

A positively scathing article published August 6, 2022, Why are Florida Democrats backing an anti-LGBTQ+ candidate who calls abortion a “sin”?,  said about Blemur:

“She has been endorsed by multiple Democrats, such as Representative Annette Taddeo, state Senator Shevrin Jones, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Cava, and many, many others. In fact, her twitter feed is a non-stop endorsement factory from multiple mayors, commissioners, and Democratic leaders. There’s also several newspaper editorials saying Democrats should vote for her. But if she wins the primary, she will be a disaster.”

Apparently, Blemur’s opponents have exposed her for having decidedly un-Democratic beliefs in that she is “anti-LGBTQ+ and supports abortion bans.”

The article backed up its opinion with this:

And this:

As an aside, for a fabulous play-by-play of this ongoing drama, you need to follow the Twitter page of Adam Christensen, the CEO of Finiks Political, former Agriculture Commissioner candidate, former Democrat nominee for Florida’s Third Congressional District, and the VotersOpinion-declared winner of the best Twitter feed of the 2022 election season.

Do you need a refill on that popcorn yet?

The Daily Kos blogger went on to write, “By the way, now that she has the backing of establishment Dems, and now knows abortion has become a top issue this year, she’s changed her tune.  At the very least, even though she’s wrong, I could have respected the courage of her convictions if she kept them.  Actually, at the very least, she could have said something less insulting along the lines of “upon further reflection…”  Yes, it would have been a lie, but c’mon, at least don’t insult our collective intelligence by claiming you have ALWAYS been pro-choice.

Social media doesn’t go away because you want it to.

The blogger closed with:

“Forgive my unprofessionalism, but W.T.F?!??!

Could the Florida Democratic Party do the BARE MINIMUM to vet a statewide candidate before going all in? Does GOOGLE not work in your offices?  Do you even know what Twitter is?

Do you clowns not understand that if she is on our the statewide slate that gives the GOP open season for smearing ALL of our candidates with corruption? Do you want a statewide race against DeSantis and Rubio where they will make the race about her?

For agriculture commissioner, there are two other qualified candidates in the race for the Florida Primary held August 13-20:

    • J.R. Gaillot, a Haitian-American, is a Harvard-educated legislative director who was the Democratic nominee for Florida’s 3rd congressional district
    • Ryan Morales is a small business owner and cannabis activist.

I couldn’t care less who you pick, but don’t pick Naomi.”

In response to all the horrible news that’s come out since then, Naomi put out a laughable statement claiming that she’s been “smeared” because she’s “a woman, a woman of color, an immigrant, and Haitian American,” and that she has ALWAYS been “Pro-CHOICE” and an ally of LGBTQUIA+.

Except, of course, when she wasn’t.

Someone needs to tell Naomi Blemur that the internet is forever.

But, that’s not the end of the story.

A late breaking story in Florida Politics, Democrats rescind Naomi Blemur endorsements after ‘anti-choice,’ ‘homophobic’ posts emerge, reported that “Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, State Sen. Annette Taddeo and State Sen. Shevrin Jones rescinded their endorsements after former Agriculture Commissioner candidate Adam Christensen on Saturday began tweeting screenshots of public posts made to her personal Facebook account.”

OUCH!

From the looks of it, Naomi Blemur’s campaign for Agriculture Commissioner will crash and burn in 3, 2, 1 …

Until it does, we may as well be entertained.

Over the weekend a satire website was created to showcase Naomi’s illustrious campaign, and it’s hilarious.

Unless, of course, you happen to be one of the “friends” who filed lawsuits because they were scammed by the Blemurs.

Read it and smirk:

“My name is Naromie Leriche. I was born April 18th, 19791in Miami, FL. I then moved to and was raised in Brooklyn, NY.

There’s a few things that you should know about me when deciding to vote:

    1. My husband is in Federal Prison for Wire Fraud, Money Laundering, Aggravated Identity Theft because he stole $1,600,000 from the Haitian community. Click Here
    2. I’m a CPA, a “life coach”, “financial literacy” expert, a real-estate agent, a pastor, a community organizer, a “non-profit executive”, “Hemp-Farmer”, a “Doctor” and whatever else I need to be in order to convince the people around me to like or vote for me.
    3. I was involved in the “consulting company” that got my husband sent to prison and I almost certainly signed off on the financial accounts, but I swear that I didn’t know what he was doing was illegal!
    4. I have multiple charities (some off book) that receive money in donations and those donations then disappear. Click Here
    5. My family has a history of running for public office to hide the crimes we are committing. Click Here

We’ll end this show with a final act in the form of yet another fabulous tweet by Adam Christensen for your enjoyment.

As always, VotersOpinion is only too happy to provide as a public service to voters as much information on the candidates that we can dig up so that you can make a responsible choice about the people you want representing your interests.

We are also extremely gratified (read: smug) when fraudsters and corruptocrats get exactly what they deserve.

  1. WOW. I also have it on authority that Ms. Blemur has made a contribution in your name to the Human Fund founded by George Costanza. 😉 Good stuff Steph.

  2. Another great article. Your research skills are priceless. The pictures are always an added bonus and make me laugh. Unfortunately these are not really laughing matters!

    1. No, they are not laughing matters. But I can’t take these corrupt politicians too seriously or I would be constantly angry. I need to laugh because humor cures all ills.
