BREAKING: NMB Rape may be connected to sexual assault in North Miami

rosh loweAs reported by WSVN Channel 7‘s Rosh Lowe during today’s noon broadcast, the rape that occurred in North Miami Beach on January 16, 2014 is very similar to a sexual assault that occurred in North Miami last week.

On January 11, 2015, a woman was abducted, put into the trunk of her own car and driven to the area of Northeast 121 Street and 14 Avenue in North Miami, where she was sexually molested.  She was left in the trunk of her car where she was found by police.

Five days later, a similar crime happened in North Miami Beach.  After the assault, the woman was dropped off by her abductors.

North Miami Beach police have indicated that they will release surveillance video, but they have not done so yet.

Channel 7 has not yet uploaded the video to its website, but I will post it as soon as it is available.

The Police Departments of both cities are now working together to see if these crimes were, in fact, related.

Thanks to Rosh Lowe for breaking this story!

  1. Thank you for this information and may the victims somehow find healing. Do you have any more details on the North Miami case – why did they not release a press info sheet? – this is horrible, more info on how to stay protected from knowing where she was abducted from would be helpful. What is with this horrible men – I hope for peace in this world somehow!

    1. I don’t have any more details about either case than what was already reported by Channel 7. I also cannot tell you why North Miami didn’t issue a press release. As I find out more information, I will publish updates.

  2. I appreciate the updates on this. I usually exercise at night and I will have to get it done earlier until these guys are apprehended

    1. Karin, I would definitely suggest you go out earlier in the evening! Keep in mind that any time you go out to exercise, if you have a carry permit it’s a good idea to exercise your second amendment, too. Just saying.

    2. You know a friend in law told me daylight can be a problem too as the criminals know people are not suspecting it. so best to stay aware all times – not that I want to say to live in fear, but just to stay aware as I am sure you will. there was a terrible incident near the miami shores shorecrest area in middle of day. I trust the law enforcement will get these criminals soon as they got that one.
