Nailed it! Chief Lenny’s answer to crime! (Updated)

Nailed itPoor Chief Lenny.  He’s under so much fire these days.

Homeowners in North Miami’s affluent Keystone Point are mad as hell about the unchecked, rampant crime in their ‘hood.

Who can blame them?  They pay big bucks to live in paradise.

The least expensive single family home in Keystone Point is currently selling for just under half a million dollars, while waterfront mansions are going for over five million bucks!

Folks who shell out that kind of dough are obviously less than thrilled when they step outside to get the morning paper … and see this:

CarThe owner of this Porsche Panamera was probably not too happy to find his “baby” up on cinderblocks.

Just saying.

Here’s the thing.

Keystone Point residents pay extra taxes for guard gates and security cameras, yet they’re still plagued with break-ins, wheel thefts and armed home invasions.

police catsAs bad as crime is in their neighborhood, outside this gated community, it’s a whole lot worse.

Keystone residents are terrified of becoming victims of an armed robbery, a carjacking, or worse.  They don’t feel safe in their own neighborhood.  Instead of patronizing their local Walgreens, Publix, or even Whole Foods, they head up to Aventura when they need groceries.

Let’s face it.  North Miami has become a war zone.

But, no worries!  Chief Lenny has a plan!

police be likeOn Monday morning, North Miami Police Chief Leonard Burgess parked his Handy Dandy Traveling Message Board in the swale along Keystone Boulevard.

Upon entering Keystone Point, residents and visitors are now greeted by this lovely, flashing sign.

Message Board 1Message Board 3Message Board 4Message Board 2As usual, Chief Lenny’s latest solution to fighting crime is yet another EPIC FAIL.

Just like his dumbass Decoy Truck, this half-baked scheme will do absolutely nothing to scare off would be criminals.

But it will go a long way to scare off potential buyers of luxury homes in North Miami.

BRILLIANT!

It’s also a loud and clear message to Keystone Point residents that their best only defense against crime in their neighborhood is to POLICE THEMSELVES!

armed and readyOkay, maybe not.

Still, Chief Lenny wants you to know he’s got this shit covered.

Time for another … Walk & Talk!

Facebook Photo ContestSeriously, folks.  I couldn’t make this stuff up.

Keystone Point residents have every right to be upset.

One irate resident sent a letter to City Manager Larry Spring yesterday stating:

North Miami does not feel safe to me. I’m afraid to leave my wife home and have instructed her to not open the door when strangers knock. I’m paranoid about my cars since I was the victim of rim  theft in 2014 where my Porsche was left on bricks in front of my home. On another occasion I was victim to an vehicular burglary where the thief stole a few items from my car including my legally registered gun…. I’m only in Keystone  4 years and that’s 2 burglaries!

My neighbors have been robbed, people are being tied up and robbed, cars are being stolen, rims are being stole and vehicular burglaries are running rampant. What’s next?

He also pleaded with Mr. Spring, “I believe its time to look for a replacement Chief that will change the PD to better protect us.”

YA THINK?

facebook copKeystone Point residents can thank former City Manager Aleem Ghany for this disaster.  He promised to get rid of the incompetent Chief Lenny nearly a year ago, but then dropped the ball.

Chief Lenny might be the laughing stock of the PD, but there’s nothing funny about crime.

If Larry Spring is serious about cleaning up the City of North Miami, he’ll hand Lenny his walking papers, and let a professional law enforcement officer take charge of the police department.

North Miami residents deserve better!

  1. Would Larry Spring feel safe living here in Keystone? Would he appreciate the electronic signs basically telling us to police ourselves? This is Lenny Burgess’ answer to my neigbor’s complaints of crime. What the hell? I do go to Aventura to do my groceries. I’m afraid. Crime will happen and we understand that. It’s the chief’s response to the crime that has me frightened for my well being and and appalled really. My nieces and nephews are afraid to have sleepovers. My neighbor’s son is afraid to walk their dog. I find myself looking out of my bedroom window at 2am to make sure my car is still there!

  2. Apparently, putting up ugly signs on the curbside is North Miami’s solution to everything.
Not long ago they put a few of those with warnings about the speed limit. Why not ticket the offenders?
Now it’s the same thing. Instead of catching and/or stopping the criminals, they put an ugly sign that makes people feel uncomfortable, and that makes the neighborhood look and feel like a war zone.

  3. If you’re lucky you’ll find the stalker sexual predator cop that lenny kept on the force staring right back at u @keystonecouple lol. Jk I’m super scared and pissed too. Little birdie told me changes to come. History taught me don’t hold your breath. 911 on speed dial.
