Jesus Update

jesus loves youWithin hours of publishing the first article about North Miami mayoral candidate Anna L. Pierre’s endorsement by Jesus, the Miami Herald’s Nadege Green updated the story.  When the reporter reached the candidate today, Saint Anna told Nadege, “I had a revelation when I was going to give up on this race.  I had a dream, I know what I saw.  A figure I can’t explain told me, ‘Don’t be afraid, I am you friend.  I am walking with you side by side.  You are not alone.’  I felt it was from heaven.  It was an endorsement by Jesus.”

Words fail me.

In other North Miami Election Eve news…

District 2 Candidate Mary C. Irvin decided that she was exempt from filing a Campaign Treasurer’s Report for the reporting period of April 5 through April 20, 2013, as required by Florida election laws.  I wonder if she’ll claim a Jesus Exemption.  Irvin did manage to file one for the period of April 20 through May 9, 2013.  Hallelujah, Praise the Lord!

Also Clueless in North Miami is District 2 candidate, the perpetually verklempt Michael Blynn, who filed a third Campaign Treasurer’s Report reflecting yet another loan from the Law Offices of Blynn & Blynn, this time in the amount of $21,000.00 between April 22, 2013 and May 9, 2013.  The two previous loans were in the amount of $5,000.00 on March 11, 2013 and $8,000.00 on April 1, 2013, bringing the total loans from Blynn & Blynn to Blynn a staggering $34,000.00.

There’s only one problem.

Those loans are illegal.

No one entity, be it an individual or a corporation, may contribute to a political campaign an amount over $500.00.  There is no limit to the amount AN INDIVIDUAL CANDIDATE may lend to his own campaign; HOWEVER, the “Law Offices of Blynn & Blynn” is not running for office.  Michael Blynn is, God bless his little heart.  To make matters even worse, the corporation known as “Law Offices of Blynn & Blynn” is an entity owned by Michael R. Blynn and Esther Blynn.  Therefore, the $34,000.00 is considered to be a CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION and not a LOAN.  Since the contribution is way over the limit of $500.00, it’s an ILLEGAL contribution at that.

Yes, Complaints were filed, and yes, he’s screwed.

Not sure if even Jesus will intercede here.

District 2 candidate Carol Keys raised $43,949.00, of which $15,000.00 were loans.  It will be interesting to see if Carol can unseat incumbent Michael Blynn and finally get a much deserved seat on the dais.  In my humble opinion, she’s the no-brainer choice.  Scott Galvin also endorsed her.  What Would Jesus Do?

Political newcomer Joseph Haber raised $17,405.00, only $155.00 of which is in loans.  He’s running an interesting campaign, to say the least, but the voters will have to decide if he’s city council material.  Besides, I’m pretty sure he didn’t ask for Jesus’ endorsement.

District 3 candidate Katiusquie Pierre is also unclear on the concept of loans to her campaign.  Between the period of October 20, 2013 through May 9, 2013, she reported loans in a total amount of $26,010.00.  The problem is that the loans were made mostly from her company, Vision 2050 Multiservices, LLC, which may not be illegal since she is the only principle of the company.  But $3,600.00 of those loans came from HER TREASURER, Gabriel Demosthene.  I will assume that we’re not dealing with a split personality here, and that Katiusquie is NOT also Gabriel, which means those “loans” of $3,600.00 are actually contributions, $3,100.00 of them are over the limit of $500.00.  In addition, Pierre’s CTRs are a mess in general.  Complaints should be filed, but I’m not even sure if it’s worth the aggravation trying to sort all the violations out since she’s not a frontrunner.  Should she be in a runoff, it will be necessary.  Not even Jesus will want to defend her.

Also running for District 3, Hans Mardy understands the difference between a donation and a loan.  In fact, out of total monetary contributions of $19,565.00 reported, Hans loaned himself $19,200.00, which means he has $365.00 worth of friends and supporters.  One for each day of the year.  Hans, I like you.  You’re a really nice guy.  But, maybe you should be thinking about giving up running for office every time there’s an election somewhere in South Florida and maybe consider a new line of work.  I hear Jesus might be hiring since he’s in the endorsement business these days.  Just a thought.

Another District 3 candidate, Philippe Bien-Aime, loves himself so much he decided to finance his own campaign to the tune of $23,900.00.  He also reported $740.00 total donations, but since his final reporting period through May 9, 2013 shows a grand total of $20,117.00 in monetary contributions, I see he still didn’t buy a calculator.  There’s a difference of $3,783.00 unaccounted for, and there’s still the question of whether or not he really lives in North Miami.  Maybe he should ask Jesus to help him file an amended CTR.

Jacques Despinosse, also running for the District 3 seat, reported a total of $15,480.00 in contributions, only $1,000.00 of which are loans.  Good for him!  This shows to me that he has a lot of support in the community.  Also, he actually lives in North Miami.  Imagine that!  Mr. Despinosse has already proven himself to be a dedicated and hard working public servant.  He might not have been endorsed by Jesus, but he did receive the Scott Galvin Seal of Approval.  If I were in the business of endorsing people in North Miami, Jacques Despinosse would be my choice.

For the all important mayoral race, it’s anyone’s guess who will take the prize.  Public chatter says that NON-RESIDENT Lucie Tondreau is the frontrunner, but that’s only because she has the political Circle of Corruption backing her.  She obviously didn’t ask Jesus for help.

Smith Joseph wins the prize for spending the most money – ALMOST TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS!  He obviously doesn’t need Jesus.

Modira Escarment is not even on the campaign trail or worth mentioning.  He definitely needs Jesus.

Kevin Burns was endorsed by Scott Galvin, and he has had plenty of experience as the former mayor.  Personally, I like Kevin, but I also like Gwendolyn Boyd, and as a lifelong public servant and awesome lady, I think she’d make a great mayor.  I also think she’ll kick ass when it comes to fraud and corruption!  Luckily, I don’t have to choose because, LIKE LUCIE TONDREAU AND ANNA L. PIERRE, I don’t live in North Miami, so I don’t get to vote.  I wonder What Would Jesus Do?

This is my final analysis on the 2013 North Miami election for what it’s worth.

TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY, NORTH MIAMI.  PLEASE VOTE RESPONSIBLY!

  1. A figure I can’t explain told me, ‘Don’t be afraid, I am you friend, I will put sugar on your cookie…

    1. Can you imagine a woman with any class telling a man to “put sugar on her cookie?” That’s pretty vomit inducing. Those are the standards by which Jean D. Berrouet believes to which I should aspire. See his comments on my previous column (https://www.votersopinion.com/?p=9199)and prepare to laugh your ass off. He’s got some nerve telling US we need to raise OUR standards after producing those disgusting gangsta videos in which young men espouse drugs, violence and hos. What kind of culture is that? HYPOCRITES, ALL!
