NOTICE OF COMMUNITY MEETING IN CONNECTION WITH SITE REMEDIATION

REPRESENTATIVES FOR ANTIGUA AT NMB DEVELOPMENT, LLC, WILL HOLD A COMMUNITY MEETING ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2013, FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M. FOR THE PURPOSE OF DISCUSSING THE REMEDIATION PLANNED AT 15780 WEST DIXIE HIGHWAY, NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA 33162.

Bow-Wow Bonanza

Celebrate the joy of having a pet dog at BOW-WOW BONANZA, on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Greynolds Park East Dog Park, 16700 Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami Beach. Enjoy games, agility and disc dog contests, PD-K9 Unit demonstration, and much more! All proceeds will go to local pet adoption agencies.  Don’t own a dog?  No worries!  Dog adoptions will be taking place on-site. Admission is free!  Parking $2.  For the safety of all the pets, vaccinations required. No retractable leashes allowed.

Friday, October 25, 2013:

Farmshare Food Distribution

Farm Share Partners with State Representative Barbara Watson, along with Senator Oscar Braynon, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime, the City of North Miami Beach, and the Florida Department of Children & Families, to help alleviate hunger and malnutrition by recovering fresh and nutritious food and distributing it to those who need it most. Free food will be distributed on Friday, October 25, 2013, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Park, 690 NE 159th Street.  Food quantities are Limited.  First come, first serve. Breast Cancer Awareness Event

A free breast cancer awareness event is taking place on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Highland Village Community Center, 13621 NE 21st Avenue, in North Miami Beach.  The YWCA will conduct a presentation on Breast Cancer Awareness at 10 a.m. In addition, a physician will be on hand to conduct free health screenings. Outreach workers will assist with additional screenings, (e.g., blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, Hep screening and HIV/STDs). In addition, women from the ages 40-49 will be offered free PAP and Mammograms. This free event is being brought to you by the North Miami Beach Mayor and Council, Borinquen Medical Centers of Miami Dade and the YWCA.

Small Business Workshop

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally A. Heyman in partnership with the Beacon Council is hosting a workshop on the ABC’s of operating a business and promoting economic development with small businesses in our community.  The October 29th workshop will focus on tapping the high returns of social internet marketing.  Learn how to set up social marketing, use the right tools and tips, benefit from the low cost and high returns! This event is at no cost to participants.  RSVP by October 22, 2013 at www.beaconcouncil.com/events.  305-579-1338.  Reserve early.
