This morning, the Honorable Valerie R. Manno Schurr ruled that the People’s Business in the City of North Miami Beach is way more important than the hurt feelings and election denial of Hans Ottinot, Michael Joseph, McKenzie Fleurimond, and Daniela Jean, and she Ordered them to show up for the March 21, 2023 Commission meeting.
She also agreed with Mayor Anthony DeFillipo’s attorneys, Michael Pizzi and Benedict P. Kuehne, that any challenges to their client’s residency should be heard in due course, and that until such time as a Judge deems otherwise, he is still the duly elected Mayor of North Miami Beach.
End of story.
In the meantime, the show must go on!

I was able to view part of the hearing. The attorney, Mr. Pizzi, was phenomenal. No detail went unspoken. I learned a lot from watching him. Thank you, Stephanie, for all of this.
Pizzi is a freaking pit bull. I’m not sure if you saw Ben Kuehne speak, but he is a South Florida legend in the courtroom. He was also AMAZING!
So, what happens when they do not show up? I’m sure they’re going to appeal until they can’t anymore. Did the ruling include voting w/o a full (normal) quorum?
The Judge did not rule in favor of a four-member quorum because she respects the Charter, which specifically calls for a five-member quorum. She did, however, choose to enforce the Charter, which states that elected officials have a fiduciary duty to show up and do their jobs. This time she ordered all seven members to attend the March 21st meeting. You can expect Hans and his smarmy lawyer, Luis Suarez, to appeal, but I don’t believe they will be able to reverse her ruling.
Let’s not forget that this is all about Hans Ottinot keeping his job, and your $60,000 A MONTH salary, for as long as he possibly can. It’s all about the Benjamins for these crooks!

There was a Zoom link for the hearing this morning. As for Hans, if there is a quorum on March 21st, he will most definitely be fired. That’s the real reason he’s telling them not to show — because he doesn’t want to lose his taxpayer-funded $60,000 a MONTH! The longer he can drag this out, the richer he gets, courtesy of NMB residents.
Between that and $50k from Tamarac, he’s got a racket. Hopefully it’ll be over soon.
Hopefully, Hans will eventually be disbarred. Then he won’t be NMB’s or Tamarac’s problem anymore. We are working on that.
How much of his defense will he charge NMB for? Here’s hoping he gets disbarred, but what’s the likelihood?
So, if they don’t show, will they be held in contempt? Also, in reference to the lawsuit with Michael Joseph in the process of being removed, is there a hearing set before the March 21st meeting?
That hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Unfortunately, it’s an “in person” hearing, so unless you’re willing to drive downtown for a 10:00am hearing (I’m not LOL!), we’ll have to wait until it’s over to find out what happened.
So what’s your point? You also donated $250 to Michael Joseph’s campaign and $200 to McKenzie’s. I’m not sure what your goal was, but Tony is not for sale.
Sorry, Hans. Mayor Tony DeFillipo lives in North Miami Beach whether you like it or not. You started conspiring with political operatives, Andre Pierre, Lesly Prudent, Hector Roos, and Jean Jean-Louis, to hire a private investigator to tail him and spy on his children when the election didn’t go as planned. You engineered the government shutdown by making sure there hasn’t been a quorum since last October.
Sorry, Hans. The truth is that Fortuna, Phyllis, and Jay all campaigned on taking out the trash (you and Duke) and getting the City back to normal before all of you started using the residents’ tax dollars as your personal slush fund.
You knew this months before the election, and all of you were in absolute shock when Paule lost. You saw the writing on the wall, and you set this ball in motion. You are so desperate to keep your undeserved $60K a month, you will do anything to keep the Benjamins coming.
I have no idea what the final outcome of the court cases will be, but I do know this. It will not end well for any of you.
Barring a miracle. Michael, McKenzie, and Daniela will not get re-elected in 2024.
This is not about Tony. This is about how you all have awakened a sleeping giant, the likes of which none of you ever saw coming.
The good residents of North Miami Beach may not have always agreed on everything, but they have always stood together through every storm, especially when their community is threatened and their hard-earned tax dollars are being squandered.
Pay close attention during public comment. The residents say what they mean, and they mean what they say. They have spoken loudly and clearly, and they want you gone.

Steph….Hans did not write that….MJ did, to disguise his dialect he changed a few words to make it sound like Hans which he failed at as well. He’s as phony in writing as he is in person.
Yeah, my colleague figured that out when she saw the email address and it was a couple letters off. Either way, I hope Hans sees the message. We know they all read the blogs even though they profess they ain’t got time for that LOL!
What about the other crook, Arthur “Duke the Thief “ Sorey II?! Its best to take the trash out at once and get rid of both the City Attorney and Manager.
He’s as good as gone. I hear he already tried to get the City Manager position in North Miami but the Council chose a qualified applicant. Congratulations to Rasha Soray Cameau! If anyone can clean up that cesspool of corruption, it’s Rasha. I hope she kicks butt!
Stephanie, would the fact that he helped Bolton illegally get him hired against state statute help with his disbarment?
