#RIPNMB. Arthur “Duke” Sorey hired as City Manager. Let the funeral procession begin.

In their collective stupidity, the Mayor and Commissioners of North Miami Beach hired Arthur “Duke” Sorey, a/k/a the Thug of North Miami, as their City Manager.

Goodbye $30 Million reserve account.

Goodbye Award Winning North Miami Beach Police Department.

Goodbye fiscal solvency.

Goodbye transparency.

Goodbye dignity and respectability.

Hello bankruptcy.

Hello corruption.

Hello Friends & Family Plan.

Hello fraudulent budget.

Hello unbudgeted $6,564,184.62 Super Bowl Parties.

Hello stripper poles, subs and Mountain Dew breakfasts.

R.I.P. North Miami Beach!

If anyone is still interested in a having corruption-free local government, fiscally responsible city officials, and no fucking morons purposely destroying your city, please move to Davie!

  1. Unbelievable. All the carefully gathered and exhausting information you put out and this. It’s all getting worse and worse with local electeds. Over here they blew through $19 million plus in just seven months when they got ahold of the city treasury. All staff left. If it weren’t for the massive single-family homes going in, the city would be bankrupt.

Davie was beautiful country when I lived on the east coast. Thanks for your entertaining but sad pieces.

  2. Right now, I heard that they are massive celebrations in all sections of North Miami. Tomorrow, most city employees will show up very happy as morale will increase by 100%. Cafe Creme will be expecting big rush of city residents and city employees in buying goodies for their celebrations.

  3. I watched with great concern. It’s no surprise to see the hiring of Duke Sorey taking place this evening. It’s unfortunate, but not shocking. This city is worse than the most terrifying amusement park ride. It was going up, up, up and making such progress. But as high as we went, we then succumbed to the most recent change in power. I suppose we had to inevitably come to a trembling fall.

Thank you for trying to inform our city residents, Stephanie. I think they are busy not caring about where they live or who governs over them.

    1. What goes up must come down. NMB is headed for the skids now. My daughter finally got out last year. It’s a good time to sell and buy in a corruption-free city. Interest rates are still low. HURRY! Consider Davie. It’s pretty damn awesome here!

  4. What was the vote to hire? 4-3 or 7-0? It is time to come up with a Charter amendment for a super majority to hire/fire the Charter employees (City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk). That way a simple majority of corrupt commissioners can’t hold the city hostage.

    1. Barbara and Tony voted against. Fortuna was the fifth vote. Yeah, we know it didn’t matter. But she showed her true colors. The lure of false power is hard to resist if you’re weak to begin with.
