North Miami voters: We’ll keep our corrupt politicians, thank you very much.

North Miami’s City Council election votes have been counted, and apparently the nearly bankrupt Philippe Bien-Aime was still able to buy more than enough votes to keep the mayoral seat warm.

For the time being anyway.

Even though only 3,334 people decided to re-elect one of the most unethical politicians in Miami-Dade County, 30,750 out of 34,084 North Miami’s registered voters stayed home watching reruns of The Sopranos.

In the end, however, his six-figure campaign war chest will all be for naught since Philippe Bien-Aime has no intention of serving his full term.

It’s common knowledge that he will step down in exactly one year and a day from the date he’s sworn back into office so he can run for Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime‘s seat, who will be termed out in November of 2022.

At that point, the plan is to get Councilman Alix Desulme appointed to fill the mayoral seat for the remainder of Philippe’s term.

Wait for it.

The good news is that North Miami will finally be rid of Philippe for once and for all.

The even better news is that Philippe has a snowball’s chance in hell of winning a County Commission seat, at which time he will slink back to Broward County, where this carpetbagger actually lived the first time he ran for office in 2013 (right after he filed for bankruptcy and the same month he lost his Plantation house in foreclosure), and beg his alleged wife to let him move into the apartment she’s already living in with their children.

That would be the same alleged wife who filed a paternity lawsuit in order to force him to acknowledge his own child.

Yeah, Philippe Bien-Aime is a hot mess,

And yet, 30,750 apathetic registered voters didn’t care that a lying, cheating, sexual predator, with the morals of a used car salesman, is the titular head of their City Council.

And good luck with that!

In District 2, there will be a runoff between the Andre Pierre-backed candidate Kassandra Timothe, who got 33.93% of the vote, and the VotersOpinion-endorsed Kevin Burns, with 23.81%.

Now that five of the seven candidates are eliminated, this race will be the one to watch.

It should be very, very interesting to say the least.

The race for District 3, as expected, was a total shit show.

Several city employees, who are members in good standing of the uber-corrupt North Miami Friends & Family Plan, played every dirty trick in the book to drag Mary Estimé-Irvin over the 50% mark in an attempt to avoid a runoff.  They were somewhat successful in that she received exactly three votes over the 50% threshold.

However, according to Sec. 6-97 of the North Miami Code of Ordinances, “If the returns for any office reflect that a candidate was defeated or eliminated by one-half (½) of a percent or less of the votes cast for such office, that a council member subject to recall was retained or not retained by one-half (½) of a percent or less of the votes cast on the question of recall, or that an issue appearing on the ballot was approved or rejected by one-half (½) of a percent or less of the votes cast on such measure, the canvassing board shall order a recount of the votes cast with respect to such office or issue.”

A total of 1,788 voters cast a vote in the District 3 race.  One-half (½) of a percent of 1,788 equals to 8.94, or 9 votes.  Since Laura Hill, who came in second, was eliminated from a runoff by only three votes, the City’s Code specifically states that ” the canvassing board shall order a recount of the votes cast with respect to such office or issue.”

Accordingly, today Laura Hill submitted a letter to the North Miami canvassing board and the Miami-Dade County Elections Department demanding a recount.

Which reminds us of the legendary Yogi Berra’s famous line …

If Laura Hill is successful in forcing a runoff, expect even dirtier campaign warfare waged by Mary Estimé-Irvin and her merry band of shady employees and other race hustlers.

And even if not, don’t expect Laura to go away quietly.

Laura promises to be a continued force to be reckoned with in her tireless effort to rid North Miami of political corruption for once and for all.

Get that corn popping!

  1. How is this happening that such a vast number of voters are simply sitting out these elections? It’s just beyond my comprehension.

Maybe it’s time to start thinking about dissolving some of these cities. You have, what, 34 cities in MiAMI-Dade? They can’t all have some special and unique quality that they each need their own custom designed government with their own custom designed budgets. What a waste.

Thank you, Stephanie, for all the work you continue to do. Your pieces are exemplary.

    1. I never understood the concept of not voting. Voting is not only THE single-most important right we have, but it is our obligation as Americans. If we don’t exercise our right to vote, we are saying no to democracy! If we don’t care enough to have a say in our government, we have no right to criticize the elected officials. A 15% turnout is despicable.

  2. How am I an “Andre Pierre” backed candidate when he was nowhere to be found during my initial campaign nor did he donate to my campaign and he donated to all the others.. Please stop spreading false narrative Stephanie because you are clearly a Burns fan and he’s running against me. I ran this race with family and friends, you can read the report.

    1. It’s interesting that you are trying to distance yourself from Andre Pierre, yet you have no problem with a racist, psychopathic, North Miami employee vigorously campaigning for you and posting your campaign logo on her Facebook page. (https://www.facebook.com/keren.frederick.5).

I wonder what Andre thinks about that.

      1. I worked at the City Hall for 5 years and most of the employees are supporters. I don’t judge you for loving on Trump and Kevin so don’t judge her for being a fan. God bless you Stephanie and I pray you’re able to remain just in this process. But I know who you’re for. For anyone who wants to know about my platform and why I’m running please visit http://www.KassandraTimothe.com or call me at 786-390-2237. I’m a homegrown resident who left my job to serve my community. Love you all, we must learn to UNITE and not fight.

        1. I never made it a secret from you that I supported Kevin Burns. I do not “love on” Trump, Kevin, or anyone else running for or elected to public office. That was such an irrelevant comment.

I also don’t judge Keren for being a “fan” (which is an odd phrase, considering you’re a candidate for office, not a rock star). I judge her for being the racist, psychopath she has already proven to be since the first time she helped Philippe Bien-Aime cheat and steal his way into the mayoral seat.

You also probably should quit telling people you resigned to run since the truth is you were fired. The Manager only let you resign to save face.

  3. I’m so glad I don’t live in N Miami anymore. It’s pathetic when less than 17% of the eligible voters cast a vote. You are getting what you deserve by not voting!☹️

  4. So “Dr” Hector Medina is now endorsing Kassandra. Lol! He just doesn’t know what to do. He should start be being honest. What did he get his PHD is? He’s definitely not a medical doctor. City Activist? He only advocates for things that will directly effect him or makes him look good with a few key people. Since telling the Mayor and Alix Desulme they lost their election by not voting on his favor when have you seen him speak again? Look at his Facebook pages. What kind of advocate doesn’t say anything. Lol! What kind of “Medical Doctor” doesn’t have a record of having practicing? Everyone knows he talked bad about Kassandra, and kept saying she want qualified and that she didn’t ask for a leave she was going to get fired because she didn’t do anything. He needs to retire from being a “city advocate” and stop talking so much shit. He is not going to do nothing next time. He does nothing that is why he will never get elected for anything other than the city’s prevaricator. His endorsement is actually a loss of death.

    1. Note: This comment may not actually be from the real “El Nuder,” whose name was fraudulently used in a past post. If this is the case, I’m sure I will hear from him, and in that event, I will delete it.

That being said, however, I agree with this comment.
