It was disgusting enough when Sunny Isles Beach Mayor Dana Goldman campaigned on the back of a dead child, but she has now sunk to an even lower level of debauchery.
On or about January 30, 2022, she distributed a defamatory email under her official title of “Mayor Dana Goldman,” attacking Greg Capra, a Commission candidate in this Tuesday’s run-off election by falsely accusing him of being an anti-Semite.
Clearly, Dana Goldman sent out this email for the sole purpose of tarnishing the reputation of Greg Capra, who is running against her preferred candidate, Fabiola Stuyvesant.
Goldman’s smear campaign was also obviously intended to divert attention away from Stuyvesant’s host of self-created, fiscally irresponsible problems, which include a foreclosure action, over 30 violation notices from her condominium association, and a Notice of Violation and Orders to Cease and Desist from Miami-Dade County’s Division of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) for “unauthorized mooring of a vessel.”
But, this isn’t about Fabiola Stuyvesant, who Greg Capra insists is “unqualified for Sunny Isles Beach Commissioner.”
Although he may be right about that considering who is endorsing her.
This blog is about the outrageous, and highly unprofessional, behavior of someone who is clearly unqualified to be the Mayor of Sunny Isles Beach.
Aside from filing multiple frivolous lawsuits against her own condominium association, stalking and spying on her neighbors, condoning her husband’s abuse of her official position, and sending out a contemptible campaign mailer exploiting the death of a child, Dana Goldman has now committed the immoral, and quite illegal, act of falsely accusing someone of anti-Semitism.
Worse, she falsely accused Mr. Capra of targeting “the wife of a local Rabbi” with anti-Semitic remarks.
Unfortunately, Goldman had no idea just how patently false that accusation was.
On February 1, 2021, Greg Capra sent an email to Sunny Isles Beach City Attorneys Stan Morris and Ed Dion to file a complaint against Mayor Dana Goldman for sending out an “endorsement letter of her chosen candidates under the guise of attacking me with heinous accusations.” Mr. Capra also alleged that her use of her official title to lie about him in order to “promote her candidates … is a violation of Florida Statute 104.271, with no disclaimer [Florida Statute] 106.1437.”
Mr. Capra wrote, “Since Mayor Goldman did not name which Rabbi she is referring to, every single one of them have been contacted. None of the Rabbis stated that my wife or I are antisemitic or have targeted them or anyone Jewish. You can follow up with them to verify this if you choose.”
Although there’s a snowball’s chance in hell that the State Attorney, the Miami-Dade Ethics Commission, or any law enforcement agency will take Dana’s violations of Florida law seriously — they never do — the residents of Sunny Isles Beach should be very concerned about their Mayor’s lack of a moral compass.
The very next day, in his campaign newsletter, Greg Capra dropped the ultimate bombshell with his revelation that he and his ex-wife were MARRIED BY A RABBI!
And that their CHILDREN ARE JEWISH!
We’re pretty sure that actual anti-Semites are not in the habit of getting married by Rabbis and raising their children in the Jewish faith.
We’re also pretty sure that an elected Mayor who makes such vicious and patently false accusations for political gain is unfit for public office and should be recalled immediately.
Sunny Isles Beach residents should be very wary of any candidate endorsed and/or supported by Mayor Dana Goldman.
After all, water does seek its own level.

Dana Goldman is the epitome of an ambitious, lying, and corrupt politician — relying on developers who funded her campaign in exchange for her supporting their projects and objections to valid programs. She, along with her litigious husband hit-and-run Gates, both appear to need psychological counseling.
As a Jew whose late parents survived Nazi Concentration Camps,, losing the rest of our family to the gas and ovens, I’m APPALLED that Goldman falsely called Greg Capra and his wife anti-Semites! He’s a wonderful, intelligent man, who is rightfully nauseated by people like Goldman who insults and embarrasses the Jewish people and our city by her demented liberal Democrat conduct! She acts like a mini-Hillary.
Since our Bay Harbor Islands (2022-23) Town Budget seems to be short of cash with (1). the unresolved missing $4.1M with our previous Town Attorney, (2). Town Staff lawsuits and them leaving, and (3). Council having to justify their agreeing upon with the Bal Harbour Shops expansion, “relocating” and bringing into our “Small Town” Business District, an enormous TAX EXEMPT “Church by the Sea”/ BDS Movement with minimal parking, (4). it appears by Council using the word “ANTI-SEMITISM” at the April 5th. Town Election, (5). they think they will win, and (6). protect themselves from possible “wrongdoing?” (7). PAID FOR WITH (BHI) TAXPAYERS DOLLARS!
Go the the Real Moms of Sunny Isles Beach Facebook page and take a look at the plethora of vile posts her husband, Michael Gates, puts out there. Several of them are sexist and disparaging memes of Greg Capra’s wife, calling her a stripper. When you see those posts then it begins to make sense why Goldman put this statement out. They are 2 peas in a pod. Many of you see one side of Goldman, smiling and shaking hands at the Aventura Marketing Council and other public events. The residents see the other side — a vindictive, paranoid individual drunk on power and hell bent on keeping it regardless of who she hurts or whose reputation she destroys.
