The “anonymous” surrogate army of NMB Commissioner Michael “Mike” Joseph

VotersOpinion has been blogging about North Miami Beach politics for almost ten years.  In all this time, and over a dozen politicians later, we have never seen complaints filed or city business being disrupted by cowards hiding behind anonymous emails.

Until Michael Joseph ran for office, that is.

During the 2018 election, Commissioner Barbara Kramer was targeted and falsely accused of non-residency by someone using the alias “Ike Runner,” whom we exposed to be Hector Roos, who is Michael Joseph’s campaign strategist, best friend, best man at his wedding, and godfather of his child in our blog, Devil on the Dais!  The twisted duplicity of Michael Joseph, Part 1.

Acting as Michael Joseph’s surrogate, Roos also targeted then-mayoral candidate Anthony DeFillipo with a false, discriminatory, and slanderous campaign hit piece, which we reported in The dirtiest of all North Miami Beach campaign tricks.

In our October 1, 2019 blog, Devil on the Dais!  The twisted duplicity of Michael Joseph, Part 2, we wrote about Michael’s obsession with destroying former North Miami Beach City Attorney Sarah Johnston by filing an “anonymous” complaint against her with the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust, and then leaking the “story” to the Miami New Times.

Ms. Johnston wasn’t his main target.  Michael’s hidden agenda in this devious scheme was to prevent the Mayor and Commission from hiring the law firm of Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman as the permanent City Attorney.

Interestingly, two weeks earlier on September 15, 2019, an “anonymous” Jose.rs@aol.com attempted to post a comment on a previous blog about Michael Joseph and referred to “a new investigation into NMB city hall: [Miami New Times article] “Ethics Investigators Probe North Miami Beach City Attorney Deal.”

On March 5, 2020, a Special Commission Meeting was finally scheduled for the purpose of voting on Resolution R2020-19 to authorize “the City Manager to negotiate with Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, P.L. and, if the negotiations were successful, present an agreement for the City Commission’s consideration and approval.”

Two days before the meeting, City Manager Esmond Scott received an email from one Jose Rosario accusing the city of an illegal process and criticizing the proposed resolution.  He even hilariously demanded that his attorney be included in Mr. Scott’s response.

Despite Jose Rosario’s lame protestations about the City Attorney hiring practice, the North Miami Beach Mayor and Commissioners voted in the affirmative and Weiss Serota was eventually appointed.

In Part 3 of the Devil on the Dais! series, we exposed Michael by way of one of his surrogates for his attempt to disqualify the Mayor from running for re-election.

We wrote:  “On February 9, 2020 another “anonymous” email was distributed under the pseudonym “Silent Dogood” to several former and current North Miami Beach residents, the private emails of two Commissioners, Jose Arrojo, Executive Director of the Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust, and two Miami Herald reporters, falsely claiming that Mayor Anthony “Tony” DeFillipo was not eligible to run for a second term due to “term limit rules.”  He also blind copied an untold number of other recipients, with the exception of this blogger, of course.”

We also referenced two “anonymous” public records requests made about this topic, one of which was from jose.rs@aol.com, about which we wrote, “We find the public records request from jose.rs@aol.com particularly curious.  This “anonymous” individual previously contacted this blogger via this site and by email last September alerting me to the very same Miami New Times article that was published when Michael Joseph leaked his “anonymous” complaint against Sarah Johnston.  After several email exchanges with jose.rs@aol,com we began to suspect this was yet another one of Michael Joseph’s and/or Hector Roos’ pseudonyms.  We are now firmly convinced of it!”

In fact, we have circumstantial evidence (which will be exposed in a future blog – stay tuned) that the true identity of jose.rs@aol.com is none other than 53-year old North Miami Beach resident Jose Rafael Rosario, a/k/a J Rafi Muniz, a/k/a J Rafi Muniz Rosario, a/k/a jose.rs@aol.com.  Rosario is a long-time associate and surrogate of Michael Joseph, and has been recruited to go on the offensive against anyone that Michael perceives as his political enemy, including this blogger.

Ironically, Mr. Rosario and I were once on the same team.  We were introduced by Michael Joseph and his campaign manager, Hector Roos in 2015 when Michael was running for office against Commissioner Phyllis Smith.  On our May 16, 2015 blog endorsing Michael’s candidacy, J Rafi Muniz Rosario posted multiple comments in support of his good friend, Michael Joseph.

When Michael lost the election, his team recruited my assistance to help gather evidence of voter fraud for his lawsuit against her.  On May 22, 2015, Hector Roos sent out an email to “Team Michael” with an attached Report on Election Irregularities in City of North Miami Beach, and included instructions on how to help gather evidence of voter fraud.

As we reported in Will the Real Mike Joseph please stand up?, we worked tirelessly for weeks collecting well over 100 notarized affidavits signed by North Miami Beach voters whose ballots were tampered with and/or stolen.  With all that evidence, we were confident Michael had an excellent case.

Two years later, the case was dismissed when Michael ran out of money, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise.  I eventually discovered that Michael Joseph was nothing but a morally bankrupt empty suit, whose only aspiration was to become a career politician.

Fast forward to the 2018 city election, when Michael did a 180-degree turn and literally turned his back on every single person who supported him since his very first bid for office in 2012 when I first joined Team Michael.

In his obsession to win this election by any means necessary (even if it meant skirting the line of ethical behavior), the candidate who relied on our support during his two previous campaigns suddenly decided he didn’t need our help.

The real irony in this story is that the Jose Rafael Rosario, is a staunch libertarian, as is Hector Roos, the leader of Team Michael.  I know this because of the many discussions he and I used to have, as well as the dozens and dozens of comments he has posted on VoterOpinion blogs since we first met in 2015.

And yet, now that I have exposed Michael Joseph for his treachery, betrayal, hypocrisy and lies, Rosario has suddenly forgotten our libertarian kinship and has targeted me as the “enemy.”

Wikipedia defines libertarianism as “conservative on economic issues and liberal on personal issues,” and “is often associated with a foreign policy of non-interventionism.”

Furthermore, “The Libertarian Party asserts the following core beliefs of libertarianism: “Libertarians support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters.  They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence.  Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.”

Well known, influential libertarians include former Representative Ron Paul, his son Senator Rand Paul, and former ABC News contributor John Stossel, among others.  Newsmax defined a libertarian as a consistent advocate of free-market capitalism, minimal government, and social tolerance (thus distinguishing libertarians from conservatives).  Their motto might be “Keep government out of the boardroom and the bedroom.”

Most importantly, the antithesis of libertarianism is progressivism, specifically the radical progressive form of politics initiated by the Marxist “father of community organizing,” Saul Alinsky.  Progressivism is the polar opposite of libertarianism in that it advocates a bigger and more controlling government, socialism, collectivism where groupthink is prioritized over individual choice and responsibility.

In his book, Rules for Radicals, Alinsky instructed his followers how to get their point across using any means necessary, including violence.

Some of Alinsky’s barbaric tactics include urging his disciples to create confusion, fear, insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty in their “enemies” by blind-siding them and forcing them to respond to irrelevant arguments instead of the topic at hand.

Rule number 5 is especially nasty, which reads, “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.  There is no defense.  It’s irrational.  It’s infuriating.  It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.”

By far the most heinous of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals is number 12, which reads, “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.  Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy.  Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.”

This is the same type of radical progressivism that Michael Joseph suddenly embraced during his campaign for North Miami Beach Commissioner in November of 2018, and which stance came as a complete shock to those of us who knew him to be more libertarian in his politics.

Needless to say, this was not the same Michael Joseph introduced to me by the ultra libertarian Hector Roos eight years earlier.  Michael’s chameleon-like transformation only served to prove that he is merely a political animal with no guiding set of principles or a moral compass.

By the same token, imagine my surprise when Jose Rafael Rosario, who shared my strong libertarian philosophy as well as a political kinship, suddenly began to employ some of Alinsky’s radical tactics by attacking me in comments through VotersOpinion and then via several emails from jose.rs@aol.com.

Fortunately, I am well versed in, and well prepared to counter, all the extreme, radical, and Marxist techniques that Michael Joseph and his surrogate army employ in an effort to discredit me.

Unlike some of the thin-skinned, corrupt politicians like Michael Joseph, who hide behind and recruit “anonymous” proxies, we here at VotersOpinion are fully armed with factual truth, unadulterated transparency … and a plethora of public records to back up our expert opinion.

More will be revealed.
