CORRUPTION ALERT: More Proof that North Miami Beach City Officials are (not so secretly) Shilling for Paule Villard’s Re-election

North Miami Beach Commissioner Fortuna Smukler is hosting a Back to School Health Fair & School Supplies Giveaway on August 2, 2022, which the City first started advertising on it’s Facebook page on July 9, 2022.  Surprisingly, the city also posted her event on its website calendar.

As you can see by the announcement, Fortuna is presenting this event in her role as liaison to the Commission on the Status of Women, and she saw no need to have her photo gratuitously placed on the flyer.

Imagine our surprise when similar flyers mysteriously appeared at Criminal Commissioner Paule Villard’s July 20, 2022 taxpayer-funded campaign event billed as a “Meet & Greet.”

These new flyers advertise a “Back 2 School Raffle” to be held on the exact same date, time and venue, and have the obligatory Paule Villard campaign photo prominently emblazoned on them.

Paule is also taking credit for “presenting” Fortuna’s signature event as her own, even though she has nothing to do with the Commission on the Status of Women.

In addition to a carnival-like raffle, Paule had her personal taxpayer-funded campaign workers, a/k/a the staff of the City’s Public Affairs & Communications department, post this event on its taxpayer-funded Eventbrite account.

This was done for the sole purpose of allowing Paule to collect the names, addresses, and phone numbers of all attendees so she can add them on her list as supporters for her re-election.

Make no mistake, this stunt is right out of the North Miami Campaign Corruption 101 playbook, which Paule Villard is following to the letter.

For once, Fortuna found her spine and complained to the regime about Paule’s blatant hijacking of her Back to School event.  She also insisted that the City remove all of Paule’s flyers from everywhere, including the City’s Facebook page.

We advised Fortuna to check to see if the the Eventbrite post was removed as well.

Although the event is still posted, it was marked “Cancelled.”

Small consolation.

Make no mistake — this was a deliberate hijacking of Fortuna Smukler’s event by City officials so that Paule Villard could keep campaigning on taxpayer dime.

This trickery was a blatant abuse of the public trust as well as your tax dollars.

Heads should roll.

But, don’t expect City Manager Duke Sorey, whose future employment depends on Paule’s fourth vote on the dais, to put a stop to it.  It’s in his best interest to keep the City’s public corruption carnival in business.

Folks, elections have consequences.

If you want this never ending corruption to stop, you must vote this Carnival Clown out of office on November 8, 2022!

The very future of North Miami Beach depends on YOU!

  1. I was at the “meet and greet” and got a copy of both flyers. Paule was so dumb that she printed the same exact full color ad on both sides of the paper… Essentially doubling the cost to print… Billed to the taxpayers of course.

    1. Paule thinks everyone is as stupid as she is. Stupid people don’t know they’re stupid because they don’t know what they don’t know.

  2. I happened to be at Aldi’s on 167 Street and wanted to see where Paule lives. I knew the general area but didn’t remember the address. Not to worry, her car emblazoned with her name and picture, was right outside.

    1. I think that link is private and can only be viewed by members of that group. Can you share what it says?

      1. We’ll hopefully get accountability once I ask for it. We don’t get p card statements sent to us. It’s only when we’re tipped off from inside City Hall or one of us gets curious. Right now I’m waiting for the City Attorneys outside legal fees to see where his budget is being spent outside his scope. One commissioner was on top of our last law firm, but crickets with this one so I decided to ask for them. We should have demanded a report every quarter, but seems we didn’t.
At a cost of 60k a month for a 4 person firm, I can’t begin to tell you how insane this is. Nevermind that the attorney was hired by four commissioners one meeting without ANY vetting, no interviews, no nada…yet somehow the very next day he was entering City Hall to get his city ID. Funny how he had nothing on his calendar that morning, that day!

        1. I’ve been waiting for copies of the City’s legal bills since April 14, 2022. The City Attorney has a budget of $930,000 for the current fiscal year, and the same for last fiscal year. Hans Ottinot is currently being overpaid the amount of $60,000 a MONTH, or $720,000 a year, which means he only has $210,000 to pay the bills of outside counsel, if needed. There is no freaking way in hell he can stay within budget, which is why the City doesn’t want me or anyone else to see those legal bills.

Public records are being hidden from the public deliberately, and mainly because Duke knows I will continue to expose him for the fraud that he is.

Oh, but that makes me a racist. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

  3. It’s the little things that can be so telling. I’ve seen enough. We need to vote her out.
