Breaking: Mary Estime Irvin about to get evicted! (UPDATED)

North Miami Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin’s self-inflicted woes are about to get a whole lot worse.

Last month we reported that she’s been living rent-free in a house located at 155 NE 131 Street, North Miami, which she sold on May 8, 2018 by Quit Claim Deed to VWC LLC, a Florida Limited Liability company.

Then on February 10, 2020, the new owners sold the house to Michael A. Etienne, Jr., her opponent in the 2019 City Council election.  At the time, Mr. Etienne told us, “I have no intention of evicting her from the property.  She will have the option to stay if she agrees to sign a lease and pay a reasonable amount of rent.

When she ignored his verbal offer to sign a lease agreement, on February 16, 2020 he notified her to vacate the premises by March 3, 2020.

When she ignored his legal notice, on March 5, 2020 Michael filed a lawsuit to evict Defendant Mary Estimé-Irvin, who “continues in possession of the premises without permission of the Plaintiff.”

He’s also suing her for unpaid back rent in the amount of $7,800.00.*

*UPDATE:  We were just advised by Mr. Etienne that this sum includes first months’ rent, last months’ rent, and a security deposit of $2,500.00 each, plus court costs of $300.00.

Not that Mr. Etienne has any reasonable expectation that she’ll pay up, since Mary is already swimming in debt for an unthinkable total of $1,415,247.84 in unpaid judgments and liens – and counting, as follows:

In case you’re prone to feeling sorry for this irrepressibly irresponsible “public servant,” save your tears.

While anyone can encounter a bit of bad financial luck due to unforeseen circumstances, every single one of Mary Estimé-Irvin’s financial problems was caused by her own hand – the same hand that refused to write the checks for her personal debt.

  • Mary Estimé-Irvin ran for public office three times, yet refused to comply with Florida law to properly or timely file her campaign reports.
  • Mary Estimé-Irvin then refused to pay the fines to the Florida Elections Commission for those violations.
  • Mary Estimé-Irvin violated the City of North Miami Code – not once, but twice – and refused to pay the fines for those violations.
  • Mary Estimé-Irvin refused to pay the real estate taxes on her own property.
  • Mary Estimé-Irvin deducted payroll taxes from the salaries of her own employees, refused to pay those taxes to the Internal Revenue Service, and then kept that money for her own personal benefit.
  • Mary Estimé-Irvin incurred a medical bill from Miami-Dade County, and then refused to pay for the services she received.

Is anyone surprised that she’s also refused to pay rent for the past two years?

Although Mary Estimé-Irvin refuses to pay her own bills, she certainly has no problem spending the hard earned tax dollars of North Miami residents to jet set around the country on trips, almost all of which have absolutely no public purpose.

Including but not limited to:

And that’s only the records we have in our possession so far.

Mary Estimé-Irvin is a feckless, immature, irresponsible hot mess of a woman who, in her complete lack of self-awareness, sent out a Happy International Women’s Day email …

A day late and, as they say, a dollar short.

Which comes as no surprise.

With all her unresolved, self-inflicted baggage, Mary Estimé-Irvin is hardly the role model of “Generation Equality” that women around the world should aspire to emulate.

Especially now that she’s about to be homeless.

What should be of vital concern to every single one of North Miami’s 62,996 residents is that Mary Estimé-Irvin, who has proven she’s incapable of living within her own personal budget, she had no problem spending $179,536,306 of your tax dollars when she voted to pass the FY 2020 Budget.

Unfortunately …

  1. I have yet to see that the property in question has been sold. Perhaps the MD County property records are delayed or not updated in a timely manner. I still see the old property records. Advise.

    1. The new owner is Michael A. Etienne, Jr. I also posted the deed as a link on this blog in the paragraph, “Then on February 10, 2020, the new owners sold the house to Michael A. Etienne, Jr., her opponent in the 2019 City Council election. At the time, Mr. Etienne told us, “I have no intention of evicting her from the property.
